I'm 22 years old. I am ill with paranoid schizophrenia and take medications that make me speechless. The problems are as follows. I have a problem with choosing the right words. Quite often, words come to mind that are not appropriate to the context, and sometimes I feel "blank" due to the lack of the right word. It also happens that I use the wrong form of a word. Sometimes I make a sentence that is grammatically incorrect, and I get stuck. These problems occur mainly in speech, while in the creation of texts, the problem is negligible. I've had these problems for three years. What exercises should I practice to minimize the above-mentioned problems? To what extent am I able to improve my speech through exercise, given that the drugs I am taking impair my speech? Am I able to express myself through exercises when I can speak freely, fluently and correctly?

When it comes to working on speech, you should be looked after by the facility that guides you in connection with the treatment of schizophrenia.

Simple exercises that improve speech in such situations are exercises such as reading and telling texts, constructing simple statements on various topics, telling about events in the past and future (what I did yesterday, what I will do tomorrow) . All statements must be spoken aloud and recorded and then listened to. If something is incorrect, we record again. We avoid reading quietly and "speaking in your mind".

When it comes to concentration disorders, it is worth talking to your doctor about it, maybe it is a matter of changing or more precise selection of drugs.
