I am awarded 10 percent of permanent he alth impairment (occupational disease), which disability group can I receive?
Such decisions are made by the ZUS Certification Doctor. The doctor, on the basis of an examination carried out in a patient who was awarded a 10% he alth impairment, examines whether the patient has a significant, moderate or mild degree of disability. The examining physician takes into account the fact thatsevere disabilityincludes a person with a disturbed body fitness, incapable of work or able to work only in sheltered work conditions and requiring constant or long-term care and assistance other people due to the inability to live independently. The medical examiner decidingmoderate degree of disabilitytakes into account whether the person is incapable of work or capable of working only in sheltered employment conditions or requiring temporary or partial help from other people in order to perform social roles. On the other hand, when decidingslight degree of disability , the efficiency of the organism is taken into account, as well as the decrease in the ability to perform work, compared to the ability of a person with similar professional qualifications with full mental and physical fitness or having limitations in fulfilling social roles that can be compensated by equipping with orthopedic objects, aids or technical means.Legal basis:ACT of August 27, 1997 on vocational and social rehabilitation and employment of disabled people (Journal of Laws of 2011, No. 127, item 721, as amended)
