I had a cold erosion over a year ago. Oddly enough, six months after the surgery, only half of her was gone. The other half still holds up. Therefore, a cytology was obtained. Another visit took place today, cytology absolutely correct, everything is fine, but the erosion remains. Until today, it turned out that a small polyp appeared. It worried me because neither the erosion nor the new lesion gave any symptoms. My doctor recommended another appointment 3 months apart (or sooner if symptoms appear) so that we can check the condition and decide on any treatment. I have been using contraceptive pills for a long time and I know that it also contributes to slower healing of erosions or the formation of certain lesions. I also know that by the time of my next visit, the cervical polyp may be absorbed.
I advise you to trust the attending physician. The erosion may renew, it may take longer to heal or it may not heal completely. In turn, the polyp may peel off by itself. Hence, a follow-up examination is recommended. Only if it does not disappear and grows, will it need to be removed. However, there is a chance that it will disappear.
