We have been running a confectionery for years. My son is learning to be a confectioner and was supposed to help us. Since he got his driving license, he only drives and doesn't care. He says he will quit school because he will be riding lorries like his friend's brother. He wants money for professional car courses. We always planned that he would help us and one day he would take over the bakery and the shop, because my daughter sews. Will he be able to translate? After all, driving trucks is a dangerous job, and here he has everything. I am very worried about him. The son is 18 years old, he is graduating from a gastronomic technical college. I am asking for advice. Anna
Dear Anna! I understand your concern about your son's fate. However, it will be difficult to impose your will on him, especially since he is an adult. It is important that he graduates from school and has a proven profession of pastry chef. If not now, it may be of great use to him in the future. Don't agree to stop learning. He can try the driver's profession on international routes after graduation. Preparation for this takes a lot of time and effort. Not immediately, after obtaining a C + E driving license, he will find employment in his dream transport company. After all, he must have practice in driving heavy vehicles. Knowledge of foreign languages would also be useful for this profession. Time will tell if he can get all the required qualifications or if he doesn't get discouraged or get interested in something else in the meantime. Your son is at the age of dreaming about an independent, adult future. He is looking for something new for himself. He has the right to do so. The desire to break away from parents is a natural tendency of a young person. He probably heard from a friend of the driver about traveling around the world and a nice salary, and hard work does not scare him. Usually a mother thinks of dangers, forgetting that dangers are everywhere. Regards. B.
