I am 13 years old and have a problem with the pronunciation of "r". Namely, it comes out of my palate behind my tongue. I cannot make my tongue vibrate. It really bothers me and reduces my activity in the lesson because I am ashamed to pronounce this letter. I avoid it, and sometimes try to avoid long words. Chances are I'm saying a normal "r"? Regards.

There is a chance to learn the correct implementation of the "r" sound at any age. In the case of the lingual "r", and most likely this is what we are dealing with, also.

It is necessary to visit a speech therapist, who will see exactly what the arrangement of the tongue looks like during pronunciation and select the appropriate exercises, thanks to which the "r" sound will start to sound correct.

I would advise against independent exercises based on materials downloaded, for example, from the Internet. They may aggravate the defect, not correct it.
