I have 3.5 son who doesn't speak. He uses a few of his words, such as baba, dada, am, and the rest is conveyed by gestures or facial expressions. Hearing has been tested and everything is very good. The son understands perfectly well what is said to him, he carries out orders flawlessly, but when asked to repeat simple words, he refuses. He goes to a speech therapist, who says that nothing is happening so far. However, this worries us the more that we have noticed that he has problems with composing the simplest puzzles. I would like to add that the physical development is proceeding correctly.

Perhaps the problem here is sensory integration, i.e. the interaction of all senses that conditions the proper development of a child (including speech development). It is worth consulting your son with a sensory integration therapist. However, regular participation in speech therapy classes should bring visible results in terms of improving pronunciation. If this is not the case, you may need to change your speech therapist.
