Why are eights removed? Should they always be extracted?

The third molars (eights) are atavistic and thus disappearing (some have them, others do not; some have them in a distorted, rickety form). To put it simply: in the course of human development, due to the progress of civilization (mainly due to the decreasing load on the teeth - we do not eat raw meat, raw food as much as our ancestors did), nature gradually eliminates unnecessary elements. In this particular case: wisdom teeth. This is the reason why we recommend extracting eights to help nature. Not obligatory, of course. Additionally, one of the two conditions must be met: the tooth is positioned incorrectly in the arch (grows crookedly) or is damaged, it does not take part in chewing, at the same time posing a threat to other teeth.
