I have the following problem, I will describe everything in order. I was treated by a gynecologist for vaginitis for a long time. For about half a year, I still had spotting (a week after my period, also during ovulation, only 4-5 days before my period was dry, I will add that the bleeding was often quite heavy) I changed my doctor and now he said it didn't look like inflammation, that I have a disturbed phase of the cycle and ovarian dysfunction (only after a gynecological examination), which does not tell me anything, because I had rather regular periods. The doctor prescribed Duphaston for me because I did not want birth control pills (my husband and I use natural methods). I am to take it after the 16th day of the cycle, 2 tablets a day for 10 days. Will the spotting disappear after this treatment and will my cycle go out of control? Are you getting fat from these pills? The point is, won't these pills hurt me, because I don't want to heal myself again for six months without any effects, and spotting for almost a month is really bothersome. The doctor did not take the cytology from me, neither the previous one nor the current one, because the result is unreliable due to the bleeding (the doctor said so). One more question: in this cycle I had quite profuse bleeding, as described above, now my period is 2 weeks late (I'm not pregnant because I did 2 tests). What could be the reason for this and should I take this prescribed Duphaston or see a doctor when it appears? If my husband and I are trying to have a baby, will this drug or the bleeding problems described above be harmful? Should I heal it first and then try for a baby? I would add that relationships are often quite painful. I told my doctor this, but he didn't advise me anything specific (gels, but it doesn't help!) I am asking for a quick and comprehensive answer so that I do not lose faith in doctors.
There may be different causes of cycle bleeding. If the cause is a hormonal dysfunction, hypofunction of the corpus luteum, then a drug that is a progesterone compound will help. If the cause is different, the bleeding will continue.
Duphaston can increase your appetite and therefore can make you gain weight. The smear test is reliable if there is no bleeding (you can have a smear test during this period). There can be several reasons for the lack of menstruation on time, apart from pregnancy, they are various types of disordershormonal. Duphaston not only does not harm the development of pregnancy, but also helps to maintain the pregnancy. I advise you to inform your doctor about your plans to become pregnant.
The cause of irregular menstrual cycles and premenstrual bleeding can be disorders that also manifest as anovulation, so you cannot say if you should "heal it first and then try for a baby".
Rather, you should diagnose the cause, and then you will know what to do next. I advise you to consult any treatment problems only with the attending physician.
