My 2-year-old daughter has been suffering from severe childhood anxiety for 2 months. This usually happens at night. He falls asleep for a very long time (about 2-3 hours), he is afraid of all sounds coming to the room. She also sees various lion-type bogeymen who want to eat her. We banish the lion and call it fear, but it doesn't help either. For several days he also sees "the lady outside the window, who wants to eat her feet". It would all be nothing, but Zuza sleeps a maximum of 5 hours a day, but at most 3 without a break. She always wakes up crying and shaky, she cannot go back to sleep for a long time, and most often she does not fall asleep at all. I have already spoken to a child psychologist and I was advised to have someone sleep with her. As she always slept alone in her room, she did not want to move to our bedroom, so my husband moved to her room. We are following all the recommendations, but we are not seeing the results and we are all exhausted. I would like to add that Zuza previously slept alone and slept all night, but the fact is that she never liked sleeping. Perhaps we could help her somehow. I hear there are some exercises you can do with such children. Thank you in advance for your answer and best regards Ewa

Ewo! I do not know the child's general situation, lifestyle, contacts and other external influences that may cause fear. Undoubtedly, you have a very sensitive daughter with an extensive imagination. But something's wrong with her nerves. Anxiety neuroses are a scourge of the modern world, at a later stage they cause somatic symptoms (abdominal pain, headache, nausea, anorexia, muscle tremors, etc.) and disrupt the proper development of children. I don't know if this is already a neurosis, but it can undoubtedly be an introduction to more serious problems. Examine the child at a child psychiatrist. The psychologist should try to find out the causes of this situation. Only the psychiatrist-psychologist duo will be able to comprehend the whole thing and guide your actions. Contact the Children's Mental He alth Clinic. Regards. B.
