The IGpro diet is a slimming diet based on the food pyramid and the glycemic index. Thanks to this, you can get rid of unnecessary kilograms quickly and without feeling hungry, and also improve your overall he alth. The IGpro diet reduces the risk of developing diabetes and high blood pressure. Check what are the rules of the IGpro diet and how much weight you can lose on it.
IGpro diettoslimming dietbased on the he althy eating pyramid and the glycemic index - an indicator that tells you how fast your blood levels are rising blood sugar after eating a certain product. The rule is that the higher the glycemic index of a given product, the faster the blood sugar level rises after its consumption. Products with a high GI are disadvantageous for people on a diet, because they cause a sharp spike in blood glucose, which leads to a large release of insulin (the so-called insulin spike) - a substance necessary to lower glucose levels. This process occurs quickly, but the blood sugar level does not drop to the initial value, but much below its level, which is manifested by fatigue, irritability, difficulty in concentrating and, above all, attacks of hunger during which you feel like eating something sweet. In addition, insulin helps to slow down the fat burning process and promotes their storage in the form of adipose tissue. Therefore, foods with a low glycemic index are he althy and supportive for slimming, as they slowly raise blood glucose levels. In addition, a diet based on products with low and medium glycemic index significantly reduces the risk of developing diabetes and high blood pressure.
IGpro diet - rules
The basic principle of the IGpro diet is counting points. Each product and dish has its own point value, calculated by dietitians based on the glycemic load and energy value. The lower the glycemic index (and the less caloric it is) a given product, the lower the point value it has. Then a given product, depending on the number of assigned points, is marked with one of the three glycemic colors: green (low GI), yellow and orange (medium GI) or red (high GI).
A personal dietitian creates a diet tailored to the person who is slimming, depending on his / herweight, age and gender, as well as your food preferences, while also setting your daily point limit. In the menu, each dish is assigned points, thanks to which a person on a diet knows what and how much he can eat, so as not to disturb the weight loss process. The menu in the IGprodiet is very flexible, because you can replace the foods suggested by the dietitian with other ones, but of course within the daily limit of points. For example, the menu for lunch includes chicken (a product marked in green with 3 points), but we don't want it. Then you can exchange it for another product that has the same color and has a similar number of points, e.g. vegetable soup. In this way, you eat what you want and the total points set by the dietitian are not exceeded.
After 7 days of using the diet, the first weighing takes place, which should be repeated every week until the end of the diet. After each weekly weight control, the dietitian gives you a new daily limit of points to eat, which changes, among others. along with your current body weight.
IGpro diet - subsequent phases of the diet
The IGpro diet consists of three phases, the duration of which is determined by the dietitian and depends mainly on the difference between the starting weight and the target weight.
PHASE I (attack phase)
In the first phase of the diet, you can only eat green-colored foods. These are products with a low glycemic index that do not suddenly raise blood sugar levels and make you feel fuller. In this phase, you can lose even 2-3 kg.
PHASE II (decline phase)
In the second phase of the diet, you eat products marked with yellow and orange, i.e. with an average glycemic index. This phase lasts the longest, but during it you will achieve your desired weight.
PHASE III (consolidation phase)
The goal of this phase of the diet is to get the slimming person accustomed to changed, he althy eating habits, and thus - stabilize their weight and minimize the likelihood of the "yo-yo" effect, i.e. return to the starting weight. During the last stage of the diet, it is checked whether you can make good food choices on your own.
