The third stage of the Atkins diet lasts 2 to 3 months, with you shedding about a pound a week. The menu in this phase of the diet requires sticking to the rules from the previous stages while regularly increasing the amount of carbohydrates. In contrast, the fourth stage of the Atkins diet is a lifelong diet.

If you want to avoid the yo-yo effect, you must continue to limit the amount of carbohydrate in your diet - not more than 100 grams a day. So you can eat vegetables normally, eat fruit in moderation, and you still avoid sweets - you can eat a piece of cake or a bar only on special occasions.
