Reanimation of a small child looks different than that of an adult. Once you learn the rules of giving first aid to unconscious, non-breathing children, there is a chance that in the event of an accident you will not panic and save your toddler's life. See instructions for artificial respiration and heart massage for children.

In the event of an accident, do not panic, act! First of all: always call for help in such a situation - call the ambulance as soon as possible - tel. 999 or 112 (cell phones).
Ifthe child is unconscious, but is breathing on their own, place them on their side (in a so-called safe position), which will prevent the tongue from collapsing and minimize the possibility of choking on vomiting.
If the child has lost consciousness and is not breathing on its own, you absolutely have to open his airways. To do this, place the baby on his back, lift his chin, and hold his head with the other hand. Later, until professional help arrives, resuscitate the childby performingartificial respirationto restore breathing.
If the child is unconscious, not breathing and you do not feel his pulse, alternate with artificial respirationheart massage .
Remember that in small children and infants, the pulse is best felt in the brachial artery . Try to feel them with the fingertips of 2 fingers. Toddlers have a higher heart rate than adults - typically around 140 beats per minute.
