Hello, I have irregular periods - how to calculate my fertile days? We are trying to get a baby, but so far to no avail. What to do?
If your periods are irregular, ovulation can be difficult to quantify. In regular menstruating patients, count 14 days back from the previous cycle length. If the cycle was 28 days old, the best chance of ovulation is on the 14th day of the cycle. With cycles every 24 days - on the 10th day of the cycle, respectively, and e.g. with 36-day cycles on the 22nd day of the cycle. Menstrual disorders may indicate a hormonal disorder that can cause problems with ovulation or maintaining early pregnancy. Please visit the gynecologist for hormonal tests.
