My father has had type II diabetes for 25 years and he suspects I will too. He gave me a blood glucose meter and I measure my sugar level. In the morning on an empty stomach, I can have from 104 to 118. During the day the sugar level drops even to 85, also when I eat chocolate candies. A year ago, I did a sugar curve and it did very well too. Unfortunately, I am worried about high blood sugar in the morning. It is probably the result of a late dinner and eating fruit - mainly apples. Besides, I do not eat bread or other flour products - a lot of meat, dairy products, cheese, vegetables, and recently I gave up fruit and the sugar returned to normal. My evening snacking is related to sleep problems. I have the impression that when I eat, then I fall asleep.

Yes, high sugar can be caused by irrational nutrition. You should try to follow the diet of patients with type II diabetes for at least 2 weeks. Eat regular meals every 3-4 hours, low glycemic products, avoid saturated and trans fat, and take care of a high proportion of fiber in the diet. For such modifications, check the sugars.
