Does the destruction of the equipment that was funded allow you to apply for this equipment again?
The destruction of rehabilitation equipment that has been reimbursed to the patient in whole or in part does not result in an automatic right to receive it again. The reimbursement is always connected with some expenses of the insured person. In practice, this means that the patient or his family acting on his behalf cannot apply for reimbursement of specific equipment more often than: once every 2 years in the case of an anti-bedsore cushion; once a year for the waist belt; once every 3 years in the case of an anti-bedsore mattress; once every 5 years for an air compressor. Some orthopedic items from the list of reimbursed items are subject to repair (e.g. wheelchair, orthopedic appliances, limb prostheses). The basis for the repair is to complete an order for the repair of an orthopedic object, which must then be confirmed at the Provincial Department of the National He alth Fund. The repair order expires 30 days from the date of confirmation. As a rule, repairs are carried out in the facility where the patient purchased the orthopedic device. Repairs do not apply to auxiliaries. Manual wheelchair repair limit PLN 240. Aluminum wheelchair (light) with a quick wheel disassembly system, foldable, for people who move independently in a wheelchair - professionally active, repair limit PLN 450. Legal basis: REGULATION OF THE MINISTER OF HEALTH of 29 August 2009 on guaranteed services in the field of the supply of medical devices that are orthopedic devices and auxiliary devices (Journal of Laws of 2009 No. 139 item 1141 as amended).
