What may be the reduced (below the reference standards) level of TSH and at the same time decreased level of FT3 and FT4?
Decreased, below normal levels of TSH, FT3, and FT4 may be due to secondary hypothyroidism. This is a decreased production of thyreoliberin, a neurohormone produced in the hypothalamus and stimulating thyrotropin (TSH) secretion by the pituitary gland. Such a condition requires additional tests, diagnosis of the cause and treatment.
