I'm 24 years old. When I graduated from high school, the doctor said that I was hyperactive and that I should have my thyroid checked. I checked the TSH level - it is normal. Sometimes I feel good, sometimes weird, ie there are months or several weeks when I am aroused and have a tendency to "wind up". It interferes with my normal functioning, I think I should have all my hormone tests done. I heard that hyperactivity cannot be treated and that it is more of a mental illness, is it true?
The term is not very precise, but is generally used to refer to people who are in the habit of reacting quickly and emotionally to things and events. It does not always have to be significant in terms of disease, it may be a personality trait, and does not mean that it needs to be treated. As long as the holder of this personality trait and her immediate surroundings do not suffer too much from it, one should not worry. If it causes disturbances in normal interpersonal functioning, you should consider what causes the increased reaction and consciously try not to make the same mistake a second time. Relatively often hyperactive people have or develop various creative talents over time - maybe this is or will be your case.
