I have a problem with headaches. These are not ordinary, light, quickly passing pains. As far as I know, these are typical migraine symptoms: numbness in the hand, sometimes parts of the face, legs … spots and spots appearing in front of the eyes and terrible, excruciating pain … It does not even give a chance to function normally - dark, cool helps peace and sleep. No painkillers help. Sometimes during a pain attack I take a few (even 7-8) Ibuprom or Solpadeine tablets, which I unfortunately either give back immediately, because vomiting also appears, or it is simply ineffective … I am helpless … It is difficult to live with it. This is not ordinary pain. Most people do not take migraine seriously (unfortunately there are also doctors among them) and say it simulates. When I curl up with pain, people look weird and they probably think that it certainly doesn't hurt that much … I have a question: can I do some tests to rule out other possible diseases? What are these tests and how can I get them (i.e. where should I go)? I have heard from people suffering from this condition that migraines can even cause a stroke or can make you lose your hearing. Each time pain arises, I am more and more afraid that it will last longer and stronger than before … I don't have the strength anymore and I don't know what to do. I was examined in terms of neurology, if it could be called an examination - the doctor always "tapped" me, stated that it was neurologically okay, asked about the latest pains, advised me to move and sleep. She prescribed some medicine and that's it. No research, no specific advice. I am resigned and slowly beginning to doubt that I will ever be able to live a normal life. The truth is, no one will fully understand it if they have not experienced such terrible pain at least once.

A migraine is identified after an interview. We do a brain computed tomography scan when we want to exclude other causes of headaches. Migraine is a serious condition as it is often associated with absenteeism from work. It is currently treated with drugs such as Nimesil for pain relief, Dicofenac suppositories, Migpriv when there is vomiting, Immigran when there is severe pain, etc. Please do not be afraid, it is a common disease and does not often cause strokes.

If you have a migraine, you should not take hormonal contraception.
