Can I be double insured as a nurse?
The legislator provided for one nurse's liability insurance contract. Therefore, we can certainly speak of one compulsory insurance. From January 1, 2012, the Regulation of the Minister of Finance on compulsory third-party liability insurance of the entity (nurses and midwives) performing their activities for damages resulting from the provision of he alth services by them or unlawful abandonment of such services under the Act on medical activity has been in force. . Third party liability insurance does not cover damages: 1) caused by the entity performing medical activities after the deprivation or during the period of suspension of the right to conduct medical activity; 2) consisting in damage, destruction or loss of things; 3) consisting in the payment of contractual pen alties 4) resulting from hostilities, martial law, riots and riots, as well as acts of terror. Unless the parties have agreed otherwise, the third party liability insurance contract covers damages resulting from the event stipulated in the contract, which took place during the insurance period. The nurse and the insurer may decide that the contract will cover damages arising, disclosed or reported during the insurance period. The insurance contract may provide that some of the financial consequences resulting from the occurrence of random events covered by this contract will be borne by the medical entity. In this case, compulsory insurance also takes the form of only third party liability insurance. Legal basis: Act on medical activity (Journal of Laws No. 112, item 654, as amended) REGULATION OF THE MINISTER OF FINANCE of 22 December 2011 on compulsory third party liability insurance for the entity performing medical activities (Journal of Laws of 2011 No. 293 item 1729).
