I'm in the 11th week of pregnancy. I've never had herpes. My husband had just 4 days of herpes for 2 weeks (then there was a red mark for a few days) during these 4 days we did not kiss or have sex, then we did, including oral sex. What is the risk of getting HSV1 and is there a risk of getting HSV2 (my husband only had herpes on his mouth)? And what are the risks for pregnancy? I have no symptoms.
If herpes has not developed within 2-3 weeks after contact, it means no infection has occurred. The virus that causes oral herpes is a different type of virus than the one that causes genital herpes. This means that if there has been no contact with a person infected with the genital herpes virus, he will not occur in the contact person. The risk of complications due to infection with the virus depends on the location of the infection, whether the infection has been infected in the blood, whether the virus has passed through the placenta, on the age of pregnancy, and whether treatment has been instituted. Minor changes do not have any effect on the development of pregnancy, while fetal infection is a very serious complication and usually ends with intrauterine death of the fetus or death of the newborn.
