You need to know the route of all stages of the competition well and not allow yourself to be surprised after crossing the starting line.

Here are 15 quick tips for winning a competition or at least improving your bottom line. The tips are divided into three groups: what to do a week before the start, in the morning on the day of the competition and during the race.

Triathlon: tips for the week before the competition

1.Read the race regulations carefully if you do not wish to be disqualified for inadequate preparation or equipment shortages. You have been preparing for this competition for months, so it would be silly to end it before the start.

2.Go to the organizer's website and study the entire route of the competition - remember all climbs, steep turns and the location of help points. Familiarize yourself with the products that will be offered on the route, which will help you set up a nutrition plan for that day.

3.Don't be tempted to try new dishes a few days before the competition and never drink alcohol! Compose your diet based on products with a low glycemic index.

4.If you have the opportunity, go to the race track and read all the important points that may affect your final result. See what the place where you will leave the water looks like, where you will get on your bike and what the beginning of the cycling and running route looks like.

5.Imagine the course of the entire race to make sure that nothing on the route will surprise you.

6.Wake up early in the morning, take a couple of deep breaths and massage your tense muscles.

14.For food and drink, reach at the beginning of the second stage, but only after you have caught a steady rhythm on the bike (after about 1 kilometer).
