It is also an effective method for growing nails, as the natural plate grows freely under the acrylic. Thanks to this, you can regenerate nails after long biting or damage.

Acrylic nailsare natural nails extended with hardened acrylic. It is a self-hardening powder, which also allows you to model your nails and give them the desired shape.Acrylic manicureis extremely durable and strong, therefore it is also recommended for people who have thin or brittle nails. Acrylic will also hide nail imperfections - deformed and uneven plate, biting marks. Acrylic can be removed from nails at any time.

Acrylic manicure stays on the nails in good condition up to 3-4 weeks after the application.

This method of nail styling is safe if done correctly and professionally - it does not damage the nail layers unnecessarily. The plate should only be gently matted before the nail hardening treatments. The advantage of acrylic is its durability and resistance to mechanical damage, it allows the nails to be rebuilt - because the natural nail grows under the acrylic. The downside ofacrylic nail extensionsis the unpleasant and suffocating smell of acrylic. However, you can buy an odorless acrylic, which is a safe preparation for pregnant women.

Acrylic nails step by step

  1. We disinfect hands.
  2. Prepare nails - gently matt the plate, remove the cuticles.
  3. Degrease the nail (e.g. with a cleaner).
  4. We choose and match the tips on the natural nail - glue with special glue to the tips - to the half of the natural plate (the sides of the artificial nails must fit perfectly to the sides of our nails) or we make them on a template.
  5. Saw the threshold between the tip and the natural nail.
  6. We shorten the tips with a guillotine, then give them the desired shape.
  7. Matting the nails with a dice or a delicate file.
  8. Apply the primer - only on the natural nail.
  9. We prepare acrylic andliquid in two separate glass vessels and an acrylic brush.
  10. Dip the brush in the liquid, and then in the acrylic powder (we create a ball) and put it on the center of the tips. Cover the entire nail with acrylic balls and spread it over its surface. Important - check any unevenness on a regular basis and correct them, especially on the sides of the nails. If the nails come out too thick, they can always be filed. If necessary, repeat the application of the acrylic several times to obtain the correct thickness and shape of the nail.
  11. The acrylic brush should be washed in acetone immediately after styling because it freezes very quickly.
  12. After drying / hardening the nails, use files to shape them.
  13. We paint in any chosen color.

How to remove acrylic nails?

To removeacrylic nailswe need pure acetone - it works most effectively. Pour into a glass vessel and soak artificial nails for about 30 minutes. While soaking them every 5-10 minutes, you can try to pry up the acrylic with a wooden stick. After removing the acrylic, you need to align and clean the nails with a block. You can also try to file the nails with a file, but it is very time-consuming and requires great care in operation so as not to damage the natural nail plate.

According to an expertJoanna Kaczorowska - nail stylist

What is the difference between acrylic and gel methods - advantages and disadvantages of each?

Joanna Kaczorowska: When it comes to acrylic, it is a powder that, in combination with a liquid called a liquid, is applied to tips previously glued to a natural nail. The acrylic hardens spontaneously within a few minutes. Then the nail should be filed to give it the desired shape. Then the base / transparent varnish and varnish as desired. The gel, on the other hand, is a substance with the consistency of a gel, e.g. for hair or jelly, which is also applied to the previously prepared tips. The gel hardens under a special lamp under the influence of UV light. After 30 seconds or 2-3 minutes (depending on the type of gel), the gel hardens and is ready for processing - shaping it.

Which is better? Which is worse? - each of the methods has supporters and opponents, because it has its advantages and disadvantages. Acrylic is harder, stronger / more resistant to impacts. More massive. He sometimes turns yellow. The gel, on the other hand, looks more natural, but is also more delicate, flexible and certainly looks more subtle. It is more transparent than acrylic. It is definitely not as "shock-resistant" as acrylic.
