I am a non-working person, not registered in the Poviat Labor Office, assigned to the insurance of my husband who is unemployed and registered in the PUP. I'm out of surgery. Can I go to a sanatorium?
A he alth insured person, regardless of the form of registration as he alth insured, may use the possibility of going to a sanatorium provided that there are he alth conditions for such a trip. Surgery could be that kind of premise.
According to the Regulation of the Minister of He alth of 7 July 2011 on referral to spa treatment or spa rehabilitation (Journal of Laws No. 142, item 835), the doctor issues a referral for such treatment, taking into account, inter alia, . - in the case of adult beneficiaries - the recommended frequency of using spa treatment, not more often than once every 18 months. The referral to spa treatment contains a detailed description of the patient's he alth condition, as well as the results of additional tests. Spa treatment is a complementary treatment, it is not a medical procedure that saves life or he alth and does not have to be carried out urgently. The National He alth Fund does not guarantee that the insured will be referred to the he alth resorts specified by them on the dates indicated by them. Spa treatment is carried out throughout the calendar year. The NHF branch does not mediate in booking a room of a given type and does not guarantee joint accommodation for the spouses.
Legal basis: Regulation of the Minister of He alth of 24 August 2012 amending the regulation on guaranteed benefits in the field of spa treatment (Journal of Laws of 2012, item 971)
