I have been working in a large, international company for 7 years and I think about changing jobs more and more often. In the last year, several people from my office have left to open their own business. A large part of these people took up the industry directly related to their passion, turning it into a new profession. I hear more and more often that the best solution is to start earning money on my hobby, but I must admit that it is difficult for me to say what my passion is. How do I know what field I should deal with, if I decide to quit my job in a corporation?

We hear more and more often that work should bring joy and fulfillment, and not only be a means of satisfying basic needs, such as food or shelter. If you are considering choosing a career path that will allow you to earn money from your passion, but you are not sure what exactly you would like to do, it is worth using some proven methods.

How to discover your passion

Think if there is anything you just enjoy doing. Perhaps you liked to do something in your childhood, you had or do have a hobby, but you never thought of it in terms of earnings. Take a look at which topics you can read for hours, or what TV topics attract your attention most often. If you are interested in a particular discipline, try to learn about it as much as possible. Doing so can help you find inspiration to combine your passion with your new career path.

Try brainstorming. Take a blank sheet of paper and write down even the stupidest and unrealistic ideas. Turn off criticism for now and just save. Notes created in this way can be a starting point for a further plan, surprising and inspiring you.

Test drive of passion. You don't have to drop everything at once for the passion that is just sprouting. Test the new layout on a slice of your life. Think of it as a part-time job, side job or just a hobby. If it stands the test of time, your passion is probably yours. Not all at once.

If, despite your attempts, it turns out that you still do not know the answer, do not be discouraged. Trying new things, meeting people and new issues, each of these activitiesit brings you closer to getting to know your passion, but most of all to deepening your knowledge about yourself, which you can also translate into the benefit of professional and personal development.

If you have discovered something that interests you, but after a short time it turns out that it was not it, or a new passion, despite attempts, does not promise professional development, analyze your idea again. It is worth making the effort and trying to find your passion, which may eventually become a new profession. Remember, however, that success rarely comes by itself, so don't get discouraged after the first unsuccessful attempts and try to enjoy the search process itself.
