Recently, as part of a preventive action against cervical cancer, I had a pap smear test, I got a result stating: AI, BI, CIb, II according to the Bethesda system, Hemophilus vag sticks. background smear and inflammatory changes in individual cells. Please interpret this result for me, because I have read a lot about the Bethesda system on the Internet, but I cannot find an article giving a detailed explanation of the system's symbols. I am very upset and worried because recently my mother died of cervical cancer and I have an appointment with my gynecologist in a month.
Dear Madam, Most likely there was an error as a result. Group II is definitely determined according to Papsanikolau and it is a correct result, although there is a vaginosis, i.e. an inflammation of the vagina, which should be treated and then the cytology result repeated.
