I'm 17 years old and squint. I treat him by wearing glasses. Practically from childhood. I have recently started to train football and my glasses are a big obstacle for me. Once I heard about laser removal of strabismus. Could you please tell me more about this?
Strabismus is most often treated with surgery - thus setting the muscles that move the eyeball. However, there is a certain group of people who suffer from the so-called accommodative strabismus. This type of strabismus becomes invisible when the patient wears glasses that correct the vision defect. This means that the strabismus is the result of a visual impairment (not an abnormal tension in the muscles that move the eyeball). Accommodative squint can be cured by correcting a vision defect with a laser. However, whether it is possible is decided by an ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of strabismus.
