I decided to improve my diction and speech clarity. Therefore, for some time I have been reading tongue twisters with a stopper in my mouth every day for 2-3 minutes. I have heard from many sources that this is a great exercise. Yesterday, however, I came across the objection that such exercises can develop greater speech impediments and have a negative impact on the position of the mandible. Especially when someone has bruxism. Is it true and you can actually hurt yourself with such small exercises in any way?

Indeed, exercises with a stopper are not always good and effective. However, if used for 2-3 minutes a day, they will not hurt and can be done. However, I would suggest that you consult a speech therapist to check that there is nothing wrong with the temporomandibular joint or other parts of the articulation apparatus. It is also worth choosing carefully the texts that are read with the stopper. However, practicing diction will definitely have a positive effect on the clarity of speech.
