As long as I can remember, as a child, I really liked to imagine that I was someone else. Now I am 23 years old and I create in my head my own world in which I can live for months. At the very beginning, I created my world before going to sleep, now I do it everywhere: at home, at work on the bus. I still think about it. Then comes the day when I realize what I am doing and close myself in myself, I don't want to meet anyone, talk to anyone, but I still think that something is wrong with me. Is this the beginning of some mental illness ??

No, these are not symptoms of a disease, but an escape from reality, which was or is unpleasant in some aspect. You can see for yourself that it does not add color or make life easier, it can lead to isolation and depression. It is worth doing it, visiting a psychologist, or going to psychotherapy. It is not worth waiting, at your age the therapy is the most effective.
