I am 44 years old and have often had minor, small ovarian cysts for the past two years. I've always had regular cycles, no cysts etc. I've given birth three times. The first menstruation at the age of 15. Now my problem is that I don't have a period for several months (2 or 3) or for two months I bleed continuously. Then I go to the doctor and during the ultrasound the doctor sees a cyst. Is it already menopause? I took lutenyl for 3 months and it was O.K. Two months ago I stopped taking my period and I am not seeing my period, but I feel a pain in the area of the ovaries, I'm afraid it's a cyst again. Do cysts typically only occur in menopausal women? Besides, I have a hot feeling and night sweats. My doctor says the menopause is too early. Then why do I have to take hormones all the time? Because as soon as I take them off, I'll have cysts. I am asking for help.

Good morning! Probably you are gradually entering the so-called the peri-menopausal period, when the second phase of the cycle slowly fades away and the level of progesterone decreases. Simple cysts that appear in your ovaries are probably persistent ovarian follicles, caused by the failure of the second phase of the cycle. First of all, I propose to perform basic hormonal tests - FSH, estradiol, TSH - and possibly consider hormone replacement. Regards
