I am 32 years old, I did not give birth, I want to have a child. During the gynecological examination, the doctor detected a uterine myoma measuring 3cm / 4cm. Sometimes I felt pain in my lower abdomen, pressure on my bladder, pain in my right ovary, my ovaries were enlarged with numerous follicles. I have also had pains in one breast for several years, I was diagnosed with mastodynia. The doctor prescribed me the drug orgametril. Is it safe to take this drug? Could the drug prevent myoma from growing? Can myoma be an obstacle to conception?
Dear madam, orgametril is a safe drug, but it has no effect on the growth of myoma. The presence of myoma is an obstacle to fertilization, but a lot depends on its location and whether it will grow if it is intramural or not if it is, for example, pedunculated. If you are planning children, I recommend consulting a specialist who will assess whether the removal of the myoma is necessary. At the Medifem Clinic, we usually recommend its removal, because we are not able to predict how it will behave during pregnancy and whether it will be a threat to its development.
