The "Ponton" Group of Sex Educators at the Federation for Women and Family Planning will educate the participants of this year's Przystanek Woodstock on sexually transmitted diseases in an unusual way.
- Educational workshops at the "House without Hejtu", lectures in the form of evening parties and a number of attractions and games for the guests of Przystanek Woodstock - this is the project carried out by the "Ponton" Sexual Educators Group at the Federation for Women and Family Planning by three days of the festival, from 14 to 16 July. Aim: HIV, HCV and HBV prophylaxis. The campaign will be carried out thanks to the funds from the grant awarded to the Ponton Group in the Positively Open competition, funded by Gilead Sciences Poland.
“It is hard to find a better place than this festival for education on safe sexual behavior. Woodstock is famous for its openness to valuable initiatives led by non-governmental organizations. We are glad that this year we can, as "Ponton", host our stand at the festival field in Kostrzyn on the Odra "- said Joanna Skonieczna, educator of" Ponton "and project coordinator.
"Ponton" stand will be eye-catching
Woodstock-goers should look for a stand with a large orange dinghy against the wall and a large condom in the NGO zone. Attractions prepared by sex educators include, among others, educational games and activities in which the prizes will be gadgets such as removable tattoos and stickers, as well as the opportunity to take a photo with a large condom. In "Dom bez hjtu" - a common space of non-governmental organizations, where you can learn how to deal with hate speech or take part in anti-discrimination activities and interesting discussions, Ponton educators will run workshops "What is sexual violence?" (July 15) and "Counteracting Sexual Violence - Breaking Down the Wall of Violence" (July 16). They will also organize two unusual lectures in the form of evenings: “About brave princesses and beautiful princes. Old fairy tales in a new version "(14 July) and" Who is Snail Sam? " (July 15).

Participants of the campaign will be encouraged to publish photos with the hashtagLetsChatAboutSexoredusexdobry- thanks to which its reach will increase and go far beyond festival area.
The project of the "Ponton" Group gives a chance to reach with educational content the most important social group from the point of view of combating the HIV epidemic - young people. The knowledge of young Poles and Polish women about sexually transmitted infections and how to protect themselves against them is still frighteningly low. As much as 70% of HIV infections in Poland in 2015 were infections of people aged 20-39. It is worth noting that in the Lubuskie Province alone, where the festival takes place, 31 HIV infections were recorded last year. In turn, from January 1 to today, 392 people performed the test in two PKDs in the Lubuskie Voivodeship (in Gorzów Wielkopolski and Zielona Góra).
We hope that educational campaigns at such festivals as Woodstock will help to increase the number of people who test for HIV and at the same time reduce the number of new infections, ”said Paweł Mierzejewski, coordinator of the Positively Open Program.
