I am 42 years old, I go to the gynecologist regularly, every year, but for several years he has not given me an ultrasound. For a year now I had low erythrocytes, HB was normal, my periods were more heavy, but they lasted normally - about 5 days, not more. I also have no bleeding in between but spotting sometimes, not always. I had an ultrasound 2 days before my period - the endometrium was 27 mm. The doctor referred me for abrasion, but before he made an ultrasound and it came out 11 mm, it was almost half of the cycle. I also had an ultrasound performed right after the menstruation and there was an endometrium of 11 mm. He has put off the abrasion and for now I am going to have the endometrium checked before and after my period. Should I undergo curettage and what is the risk of such a thick endometrium?
The most likely cause is hormonal disorders related to the age of the approaching menopause. You should receive therapy to reduce the amount of menstrual bleeding. Endometrial overgrowth in some cases can lead to endometrial cancer, so if there is an endometrial hyperplasia, it should be determined what its nature is and how it needs to be treated.
