My sister tried to kill herself. He is currently in a psychiatric hospital. I am concerned about her behavior. He is lying all the time and is acting weird in general. He is due to return home in a few days. I am worried that she is not completely he althy, especially since she recently admitted that she was delusional. Could these be symptoms from the use of amphetamines and alcohol? What to do when he returns home.
I think the therapist is talking to the family and then you have to tell him about the situation. My answer to the title question is that delusions usually arise from illness. The use of amphetamines (as well as other drugs) and drinking alcohol can trigger and aggravate this disease.
