The internist diagnosed me with type 2 diabetes. At the same time, I have been seeing worse for some time. Should I go to an ophthalmologist and have my eyes checked?
Of course it is. With diabetes, it is especially important to take care of the eyes, because complications resulting from a systemic disease (diabetes) are very common here. Please do not wait to see an ophthalmologist (tell him or her about diagnosed diabetes) and then regularly check your eyesight.
