Does hypochondria refer only to the accusations of body diseases, or also to mental diseases? I am diagnosed with anxiety neurosis. I noticed that I was looking for a mental illness in myself - I was watching my every action closely. When I go to the forum about neurosis and read what other people suffer from, I have similar diseases in a moment. Recently I have read that people are obsessive about the thought of hurting themselves, and of course I am also terribly afraid of it … I could list examples endlessly …
You made the diagnosis yourself: these are fears that already make sure that there is something to be afraid of. The most common subject of fear is he alth. Characteristic is the fear that a person will fall apart and become mentally ill from the flood of such experiences. It is interesting that such fears, as a rule, do not affect people who are actually mentally ill - because they are unable to critically evaluate themselves. It is said that whoever looks for a tumor will find it. This is also the case with anxious browsing of the Internet content in search of something that would "suit" me. Many diseases and symptoms will match, and if something doesn't match well, anxiety will try to "match" it. That is why - at least in your case - you do not enrich your knowledge, only your fears become enriched and more varied. You have to talk about such matters - but with a therapist. Regards!
