You wrote about medical home visits. What about a specialist? Is he required to make home visits? Are there any differences on this topic when working in private practice? Regards
Private practice does not oblige the physician to make home visits. Home visits in the framework of primary he alth care are carried out by specialist physicians, on a mandatory basis, if the he alth unit employs a given specialist and the scope of his duties includes specialist care for the patient. Pursuant to § 6 of the Regulation of the Minister of He alth on guaranteed services in the field of outpatient specialist care, in cases resulting from the he alth condition of the recipient, guaranteed services are provided at their home. In clinically justified cases, the patient has the right to call a specialist doctor for a home visit, as specified in the Order No. 62/2009 / DSOZ of the President of the National He alth Fund of November 2, 2009 on defining the conditions for concluding and implementing contracts such as outpatient specialist care. A specialist doctor's home visit does not release the patient from having a referral to a specialist issued by a he alth insurance doctor. Legal basis: Regulation of the Minister of He alth on guaranteed services in the field of outpatient specialist care (Journal of Laws of 2009 No. 139 item 1142 as amended)
