My sister and I have a problem with hypertension. We exceed the correct weight by approx. 3 kg. My cholesterol is increasing - now it is around 220 and the blood pressure is also increasing. On the other hand, my sister's cholesterol is always normal, but her blood pressure is probably a tragedy. This is a 57-year-old person who weighs 53 kg with a height of 152 cm. Pressure attacks of up to 220. She claims that no drugs are helping, so she doesn't worry anymore, just takes Captopril under her tongue when she is dizzy. I have chronic stress, I think she has hidden hyperactivity. Is our pressure related to the nervous system? Or are weak hearts causing the nervous system to malfunction?

Hypertension arises as a result of the influence of many factors on the human body. Very rarely, there is only one cause, in most cases it is the sum of the negative factors affecting the human body that raise blood pressure.

One of the factors contributing to hypertension is a hereditary tendency to high blood pressure, and it is likely that this factor is present in both women. The confirmation of its existence is the presence of hypertension in parents and grandparents, as well as in other family members.

The next factor is the excessive consumption of sodium, atrium - these are its names that can be found on the packaging of food products prepared in an industrial manner. Modern man consumes two or even three times more sodium ion than is needed for its proper functioning. The easiest way to reduce it in the diet is to eat meals and dishes that are as least processed and prepared at home as possible. Vegetables, fruits, groats, cooked white meat and dairy products are recommended. Not recommended - canned food, cold cuts, yellow dry cheeses, stock cubes, tomato paste and ketchup.

Food should not be s alted. It is also worth limiting the volume of meals and not snacking between meals, because - as a well-known saying goes - the biggest piece of truth lies on the plate.

The sister should contact the doctor and determine the method of long-term treatment of hypertension with the use of appropriately selected tablets. Taking Captopril on an emergency basis is not a permanent method. Also, do not put the medicine under the tongue, but swallow it. The drug is takensiphoning and swallowing will work at the same time - there is scientific evidence in this regard. This is important because the official route of administration, according to the manufacturer's documentation, is oral administration, which is not the same as sublingual administration. If your sister adheres to the diet and uses the prescribed medications systematically, you may not need to take Captopril on a daily basis.
