I am 65 years old. I went to the gynecological clinic for a Pap smear. There I was told that I had to pay extra 20 zlotys for the examination. I have to pay an extra PLN 30 for the ultrasound. Is it possible that women over 60 did not receive reimbursement for these tests? I live in the province Silesian. A friend from the province at my age, she did not pay extra for such research.
Unfortunately, there are no regulations indicating a refund for a Pap smear test in 65 years of age. You can ask this question at the National He alth Fund, using the free hotline 800 392 976 or by calling 22 572 60 42.
Prophylactic Pap smear can be performed in any gynecological office that provides services under the contract with the National He alth Fund. No referral is required to the gynecologist. Women younger than 25 and older than 59 can take a Pap test as part of the advice given by a specialist doctor.
