How long can lactation cease after weaning? I weaned my daughter from the breast already a month ago, because I had less and less milk (at the end it was only 20-50 ml per day), I fed for 5 months, of which the last month was mixed feeding, where this modified milk had to be given more and more. Currently, a month after weaning, there is an occasional spot of milk, 1 cm in diameter, on clothes, and a microdroplet appears when the nipple is pressed. I wish this microlactation would eventually be lost. Will it happen by itself? Are any pharmacological measures necessary? Can the cause of non-perishing lactation be the partner's caresses during sexual intercourse (suckling the breasts)? Should I forbid him to do this?
Definitely, lactation is influenced by suckling. You should also not express the breast milk. The time at which food will completely cease to be produced is indeterminate. I advise you to consult the attending physician and tell about the problem. Your doctor will help you stop lactation.
