I'm 30 years old. I am 14 weeks pregnant (1st pregnancy). I asked my gynecologist how he views the toxoplasmosis test in my case. I mentioned that I have a cat in the house, but he doesn't go outside at all. From childhood, I was raised with cats and dogs. The doctor replied that I had certainly gone through this disease asymptomatically and that I could be calm. I'm not entirely sure if he's right. What do you think? Thanks in advance for your answer.

I agree with the lady. Without the tests, it is not known if you have suffered from toxoplasmosis. The test for toxoplasmosis is a test for the presence of IgG (ToxoIgG) and IgM (ToxoIgM) antibodies. The presence of IgM antibodies indicates a recent illness of toxoplasmosis. IgG antibodies are immune antibodies - they appear at the time of infection. At the beginning of the disease, their concentration increases, then decreases, and unlike IgM antibodies, their presence remains throughout life.
