I am 33 years old, eat he althy, do not smoke or drink alcohol. I measured my blood pressure sporadically - it was always good. My father was diagnosed with high blood pressure, which is why my mother bought a shoulder pressure measuring device. I started taking my blood pressure two or three times a week - it was always good, sometimes a little elevated. Yesterday I measured my blood pressure at 3 p.m. - I had 151/87, pulse 105, and at 9:30 pm I had 151/100, pulse 109. Was it too high and should I see a doctor? Can pressure be hereditary? Because my father's mother, and my grandmother, also had high blood pressure and diabetes.

The results of the measurements indicate that you will probably have high blood pressure. From a formal point of view, we talk about the diagnosis of hypertension when the pressure above 140/90 is found three times or the pressure 180/110 once. A positive family history increases the likelihood of developing hypertension. It may appear at different ages in people from hypertensive families. Your age is a typical period for the manifestation of hypertension. In addition, the calendar time in which the increases occurred is also quite typical - the Christmas diet contains more sodium (hams, dry sausages, vegetable salads are typical "s alt bombs") and increased consumption of this ion may favor an increase in pressure. You must be aware that sodium ion is found not only in s alt (i.e. sodium chloride) but also in many non-s alt products. There is a particularly high amount of sodium in s alt-preserved products with a long shelf life.
I encourage you to read other posts on hypertension, where I often mention this problem, and to read my blog S alt Civilization. It is worth paying attention to your diet, and if your blood pressure values are above 130/80, it will be advisable to contact your GP.
