I would like to ask if there are no contraindications for driving if you have not had symptoms of epilepsy for more than 2 years? What do I have to do for my doctor to confer on me with no contraindications?
It is best to consult a neurologist about this. However, I can inform you that epilepsy in people who do not require pharmacological treatment is not a he alth contraindication for driving after one year without further seizures, provided that the opinion of a neurologist and regular medical check-ups for a period of at least five years is provided.
On the other hand, in the case of a person diagnosed with epilepsy and taking antiepileptic drugs, no medical contraindications for driving may be stated if the person presents a neurological opinion confirming the absence of seizures during the last two years of treatment and on the condition of subsequent check-ups every six months for two consecutive years, then every year for the next three years, and then depending on the neurologist's indications.Legal basis:Act of 5 January 2011 on vehicle drivers (Journal of Laws of 2014, item 600) Regulation of the Minister of He alth on medical examinations of drivers and applicants for permissions to drive vehicles (Journal of Laws of 2014, item 949)
