I have a problem with admission to the cardiology department of a hospital. The doctor who saw me said that there was no room in the ward and therefore refused to see me. I wonder if he had such a right? What can I do to get hired?

At the outset, it should be noted that patients reporting to the hospital can be admitted: scheduled with referral, unplanned with or without referral, emergency. If the patient's he alth condition allowed the doctor to decide that the patient does not qualify for emergency hospital treatment or as a result of a scheduled referral to the cardiology department, and there are no vacancies, he has the right to refuse the patient admission to the hospital ward. Then the doctor gives the patient instructions on further management and treatment and issues an information card. In such a situation, the patient can monitor the condition of the beds in the hospital by contacting the cardiology department or the emergency room. In the event of a deterioration in he alth, he has the right to call an ambulance or return to the hospital emergency room for cardiological treatment planning. The patient may need emergency medical help at any time and such help should be provided by doctors.

Legal basis: Act on the rights of the patient and the patient ombudsman (Journal of Laws of 2012, item 159 as amended)
