On March 19, the feast of St. Józef the Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the episcopal consecration of Fr. Radosław Orchowicz, appointed by Pope Francis as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Gniezno. The main consecrator will be the Primate of Poland, Archbishop Wojciech Polak.

Fr. Radosław Orchowicz was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Gniezno on January 26, 2022. The new auxiliary bishop was born on January 21, 1970 in Wysoka (now the diocese of Bydgoszcz). In the local church of On February 8, 1970, Our Lady of the Rosary received the sacrament of Holy Baptism. In the years 1988-1994 he was formed at the Primate's Major Seminary in Gniezno. In the years 1994-1999 he was a vicar in the parish of Holy Trinity in Strzelno, and in the years 1999-2003 a vicar in the parish of st. Lawrence in Gniezno. In the years 1998-2002 he completed specialist studies at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań in the field of patristic theology. In 2009 he obtained the title of doctor of theology. In the years 2003-2011 he was the diocesan youth chaplain and worked in the Catechetical Department of the Metropolitan Curia in Gniezno. In 2011, he was appointed pastor of the parish of st. Józef the Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Inowrocław. At the time of his appointment as auxiliary bishop, he was the deputy dean of the Second Inowrocław deanery, a member of the Program Council of the Archdiocese Pastoral Study for Priests, the economic council of the Primate's Major Seminary in Gniezno, catechetical inspector and chaplain of the prison in Inowrocław.
As the episcopal motto, the nominee bishop adopted the words JOY ALWAYS in the Lord. These are the first words of St. Paul to the Philippians (Phil 4: 4).
