What are the symptoms of women with losing hormones with age? Every body reacts differently to changes in the hormone balance, but some symptoms of hormone deficiency are easy to spot.
The proper hormonal balance of the body is of great importance for well-being. As hormones decline with age, the following changes and symptoms may occur:
- increase in blood cholesterol levels, which promotes atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases;
- the vaginal walls become thinner - the superficial layer of the epithelium lining the vagina disappears, which promotes inflammation, mucus production disappears, which causes dryness and pain during intercourse;
- lowering the uterus - urinary incontinence and the so-called urethral syndrome, manifested by more frequent urge to urinate and pain during urination;
- loss of bone mass as a consequence leading to osteoporosis;
- cells are insensitive to insulin, which favors the development of type 2 diabetes;
- sometimes it comes to the so-called androgenization (the ovaries still produce testosterone): the skin and hair become greasy, excessive hair growth and / or male pattern baldness appear;
- loss of skin firmness - deeper and deeper wrinkles appear on it, and the hair becomes thin, brittle and dull.
