ZIP , i.e.Integrated Patient Guide , is a nationwide service providing registered users with data on their treatment. How can I access the Patient He alth Guide?

A person insured at WOW NFZ who wants to have access to the history of their treatment in he alth care facilities, may present themselves with an identity document to the headquarters or branch of the National He alth Fund (NFZ), where, after completing the application and registering, they will receive access to the system (login and password).

From January 2022, you can also create an account:

  • online - at https: //zip.nfz.gov.pl
  • by submitting an application confirmed with a Trusted Profile (it is an identifier that confirms the identity used for various types of activities and contacts in offices)
  • by submitting an application signed with a qualified signature - it is an electronic signature equivalent to a handwritten signature. It is used to sign documents and contracts that have legal force.

How to log into the ZIP system? Conditions for access to the Integrated Patient Guide

Access to the ZIP system is obtained after submitting an application for access data. This can be done at the Provincial Department of the National He alth Fund or on the website zip.nfz.gov.pl.

The available data, however, will appear at least 24 hours after the account is created, and will be updated once a day.

Then the NHF employee verifies the information contained in the application, i.e. compares it with the data collected in the Central Register of Insureds. If the data is compatible, the future user of the system receives a login anda password that will allow him to access information contained in the ZIP system. Access data should be collected in person at a NFZ facility, after presenting an identity document.

Access data can be requested by insured persons (including family members), voluntarily insured persons, uninsured persons en titled to benefits and persons uninsured but en titled to benefits in the past.

How long does it take to create an account in the ZIP system? How long will I have access to it?

Opening an account in the Integrated Patient Guide takes a few minutes, and you will be able to use the system the very next day. When logging in for the first time, the patient will be identified by a special number and password, which he will receive from the National He alth Fund. After logging in, the system will ask him to change this data.

Is my data safe?

The ZIP system was created in cooperation with the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, which is to guarantee complete security for users. ZIP data is the so-called sensitive data, not contact details, hence due care for their protection.

Importantly, after logging in, the patient sees only his login and treatment history. There is no personal data anywhere, such as telephone number or home address. Thanks to this, even if a stranger gains access to our account, he will not be able to verify whose account he has logged in to.

Integrated Patient Guide - what can be checked in it?

The ZIP system is divided into four parts.The first part, "Your portal" , provides basic information on the right to he alth care and the right to publicly funded he alth care.

The second partis a special application thanks to which we can find medical facilities where we can treat ourselves free of charge: clinic, dentist's office, night care point, hospital ward, rehabilitation or emergency room emergency assistance.

The third partof the Integrated Patient System isRegistry of Medical Services (RUM) . It contains historical data on the provided he alth services and the amount of public funds spent on financing the treatment, i.e.

  • when and where we were treated and how much did the National He alth Fund pay for the provided medical services (applies to visits and stays in hospital, outpatient and spa treatment facilities);
  • when and in which pharmacy we bought the reimbursed prescription and how much the National He alth Fund (NFZ) paid for the drug;

After logging in, you can also find information at what stage of implementation is the application submitted to the Fund, e.g. orthopedic orsanatorium.

The fourth partof the system is the so-calledRight to benefits . Here you can check whether you are insured and whether you are en titled to he alth benefits. In addition, we can check:

  • to which family doctor we are registered;
  • what is the name of the nurse who will look after us in the event of a hospital stay;
  • which obstetrician doctor should a pregnant woman go to;
  • information about queues for specialists or for individual treatments.

Interestingly, after logging in, the patient sees only his login and treatment data, etc. There is no personal data provided anywhere: telephone number or address. Thanks to this, even if a stranger gains access to our account, he will not be able to verify whose account he has logged in to.

Who can use the Integrated Patient Guide?

The scheme is available to insured persons (including family members), uninsured en titled to benefits, uninsured but previously en titled to benefits, and voluntarily insured persons. All eligible persons must be 18 years or older.

Worth knowing

Why is it worth having access to the Patient He alth Guide?

The Patient's He alth Guide, on the one hand, is a valuable source of information about the insured's treatment history, when it may be important in decisions regarding further therapy, on the other - it is a way to tighten the he alth care system. If the patient notices any irregularities on his own account - he can ask for their clarification to the Patient Rights Ombudsman at WOW NFZ.
