My 13-year-old son is aggressive. He often beats me, pushes me, tugs me (I'm the weakest physically). I tried everything - I asked, translated and applied punishments. I made an appointment at the clinic, but my son does not want to walk. Nothing helps. He studies well at school, but he is arrogant and has no respect for teachers. At home, someone always has time for him, we talk and read books, we watch TV together. The problem is only when you ask him for something, e.g. to turn off the computer or do shopping. How to stop aggression and teach a child to respect?

Mario! Here a strong man is needed who will calmly but consistently teach the child to respect others. Pushing and hitting the mother, arrogance towards teachers is unacceptable. If there is no man in your home, ask your tutors for help. Ex officio such matters are de alt with by the class teacher and the school teacher. Usually, however, they are women. Since the "goodness" translation does nothing, you need to look for a firm man who will talk to the boy about these matters privately and show him how to treat adults. The conversation should also concern the man's respect for the woman and the son's respect for the mother. A male conversation in which a 13-year-old is treated like an adult male should be successful. If you do not know why your son is acting this way, you need to find out. Maybe this is his only way to show his "adulthood" and independence? Maybe it is just a duplication of patterns of behavior that it draws from outside (e.g. from colleagues)? Aggression doesn't come out of nowhere. The reasons will be discovered as soon as possible by a pedagogue or a psychologist. You need to get to know them in order to know how to deal with the child. Ask the school counselor to refer your son to a psychologist at the Pedagogical and Psychological Clinic. There, after talks and a psychological examination, you will receive tips and professional help. Regards. B.
