Mazowieckie Association of People with Parkinson's Disease (MSOzChP) is a social organization uniting patients and their families. The association helps not only patients with parkinson belonging to this association, but also patients from all over the country who establish contact, on a par with members of the MSOzChP. The activity of the association is based on the voluntary work of all members.

Mazowieckie Association of People with Parkinson's Disease (MSOzChP)has been operating since 1995, and an interesting sequence of events led to its creation. In the fall of 1993, in the Twój Styl monthly (No. 9/1993, p. 44), prof. Janusz Łętowski, based on his own experience, published an article under the perverse title "Like Parkinson". The content of the article, not so much rich in good advice, as the very term "like", outraged Judge Józef Wieczorek to such an extent that, based on his own struggles with this disease, he wrote a reply to "Życie Warszawy", stating in a letter of 18 January 1994 that "Parkinson there is no way to like him, you can only hate him ".

As a result of this polemic letters spilled and phones rang, as it turned out that hundreds of people in the capital alone were affected by this disease. Unable to answer each letter, Janusz Wieczorek called a meeting of all interested parties. And it was during this first meeting, after an interesting lecture by judge Janusz Wieczorek and his demonstration of appropriate methods of gymnastics, the first thought and need for people with Parkinson's disease were born. Interestingly, this meeting took place in a courtroom and the press article describing this event bears the meaningful title "The Court of Parkinson." Accordingly, the initiative group led by Józef Wieczorek developed the statute of the Association, which was registered on January 26, 1995.

The first General Meeting was held on May 20, 1995. The Management Board of the Association, with 50 members, was elected. To facilitate contact between the Management Board and the members of the Association, groups were divided into groups according to Warsaw districts, and at the head of each group was a "liaison". (It should be noted, however, that the formation of groups, circles within one organization did not work in practice.

Uprisingassociations in Warsaw was an impulse to establish new regional associations in Poland. On October 21-22, 1998, the 1st National Congress of Delegates of Associations of People with Parkinson's Disease took place in Warsaw (26 delegates from 13 cities - the honorary patronage of the Prime Minister, and the President of the Republic of Poland's wife in the Honorary Committee), an Agreement on the principles of cooperation between the Associations and a Resolution for recognition were signed Parkinson's disease for a chronic disease and the Charter of the Rights of People with Parkinson's Disease. In November 2009, the General Meeting changed the statute, in which the most important change was the possibility for people not affected by Parkinson's disease to join the Association and the change in the structure of the board, which made it a collegial body. It also changed its name to the current one - Mazowieckie Association of People with Parkinson's Disease.

After 2010, the activities of the association underwent a certain transformation. Traditional so-called The third-time meetings to which doctors, people dealing with the problems of sick people and their relatives were invited, were supplemented with meetings on the remaining Saturdays of the month, aimed at integrating the community of patients and carers (including celebrating holidays together). In addition, new forms of activities and activities have appeared, such as joint trips to the theater or concerts, trips to rehabilitation and integration camps at the O.W. Terns, participation in conferences, etc. Due to the lack of space, they are presented below in a telegraph (many of them are described in more detail in the earlier issues of our newsletter or in the "Elephant" bulletin - supplement to the "PARKINSON-Polska" quarterly).

The association's office is invariably located on the premises of the MSW hospital at ul. Wołoska (thanks to the constant kindness of its management), but our activity is now connected, not only in terms of territory, with the Ochota district. This is due to, inter alia, out of the kindness and interest that the district authorities have for the elderly and non-governmental organizations working for seniors.

Joining the association of new members and increasing the activity and scope of activities after 2011 probably had an impact and the fact that after three years we resumed publishing the "Parkinson" bulletin (this time in color) and practical guides, we began to visit various types of conferences in the Sejm, press and scientific conferences, at events of interest to us, as well as take part in national and international events.

Members of MSOzChP

The number of members has changed over the years, in the period 2007-2010 over 400 people were registered in the records of the association. In recent years, we are inan association of about 200 people (taking into account those paying contributions), mainly the sick from Warsaw and the surrounding area as well as from various regions of Poland, including about thirty people who are not ill, most often carers. The majority are men (approx. 60%). There is also a group of a dozen or so people from all over Poland who are not formally members of the association, but maintain contact by phone or e-mail and support the association with donations.

Activities of MSOzChP

Initially, meetings between the sick and the sick with doctors were organized, information activities were carried out (press articles, press conferences, charity concerts), and group rehabilitation classes continued to this day in the gym at MOS No. 7 in Ochota.

The so-called third-person meetings to which doctors, people dealing with the problems of sick people and their relatives are invited. For 13 years, we met in the auditorium at the MSW hospital at ul. Wołoska. It was here that the 1st National Meeting of Associations of People with Parkinson's Disease (April 16-17, 2005) was organized by the newly established, by the vice-chairman of the Association, Jerzy Łukasiewicz, the "Live with Parkinson's Disease" Foundation. Those present at the meeting appointed the National Council of Regional Associations of People with Parkinson's Disease in Poland. However, this initiative did not stand the test of time, although it was not officially disbanded.

Then, in order to obtain funds, the activities of the Association began to be implemented as part of financially supported tasks, initially by the "Wspólna Droga" Foundation, later by the Capital City of Warsaw. Warsaw. Offers (tender contests) were submitted for co-financing activities and subsidies were obtained for the following tasks:
