I feel a burning sensation in the muscle of my left thigh, feeling like being burned with nettle. The symptoms worsen at night, i.e. in the supine position (there is also muscle numbness) and during the day in a sitting position. In motion, the symptoms decrease, almost disappear. It has been going on for 3 months. What could it be?

Symptoms - if they are located on the side of the thigh - may suggest the so-called paresthetic meralgia. The symptoms are related to the pressure on the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh at the level of the upper hip border. It may be related to obesity, too tight belt. It is worth consulting a neurologist.
