The celebration of the jubilee was inaugurated by a mass. in an academic church. Later, there was also a ceremonial gala during which the choir received, among others, awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage the Gold Medal for "Merit to Culture Gloria Artis".

The Choir of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin was founded in 1921. Since then, he has given thousands of concerts all over the world. He has also participated in over one hundred national and international festivals, winning awards and distinctions.

Celebrations of the 100th anniversary began with a Holy Mass. in an academic church. Former member of the Choir of the Catholic University of Lublin, Fr. Dr. Dominik Koperski during the mass said, among others about the fact that singing in a choir is sharing your talent with others and yourself.Singing is a thing of love- he emphasized.

After the mass, a jubilee gala was held in the main hall of the university. Prorector of the Catholic University of Lublin, Fr. prof. Mirosław Sitarz said in the gala opening speech thatsinging, especially choral singing, is not only an element of culture, but a community-building reality that connects and unites . He emphasized that from the beginning of its existence, the choir of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin has been a great treasure and showcase of the university, city and homeland.

The gala also featured, among others, Kacper Sakowicz - head of the political office of the minister of culture and national heritage, Mariusz Banach - deputy mayor of the city of Lublin for education and upbringing and Monika Mielko-Remiszewska - president of the Polish Association of Choirs and Orchestras, Lublin Branch.

During the gala, awards and decorations were presented. The choir received the Gold Medal "Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis" awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, a diploma of the Minister of Education and Science for promotion of culture and in recognition of achievements, awarded by the voivode with the honorary badge "Zasłużony dla Lubelskie" and "Zasłużony dla Miasto Lublin" ("Meritorious for the Lublin Province"). - the highest award granted by the mayor of the city and the Golden Badge with a Diamond, i.e. the highest award of the Polish Association of Choirs and Orchestras. Moreover, some were decorated with honorable laurelsband members.

The culmination of the jubilee was a concert with the participation of the jubilee, i.e. the Choir of the Catholic University of Lublin. He was accompanied by the orchestra of the Crown Tribunal in Lublin. The program includes, among others works by Mozart: Alma Dei creatoris, Ave verum, Regina coeli, Benedictus sit Deus.

A photo exhibition devoted to the choir is also part of the anniversary celebrations. It can be seen in the atrium of Collegium Norwidianum in Kulowo until December 9th.
